Two days later, Lisa and Sjaak were already quite used to the way things were. They were playing games, watching movies, listening to music, and making music themselves.

Last night Julian and Petra had arrived with a coffee maker and two large bags of coffee beans. They had immediately engaged the machine and enjoyed the smell and the delicious taste. When Sjaak asked about the price, Julian said it was a gift. Petra had gotten it for a bargain at the thrift store and he thought it was just nice that they could enjoy it for the next days.

"Not all clients get such good coffee, so think of it as a thank-you gift or something. The only downside is, it does make more noise than making coffee in a pot. I hope that doesn't disturb you guys in your sleep."

"That won't be too bad, the kitchen is not directly connected to our bedroom," thought Sjaak.

Annerieke had calculated how many people would be on the estate each day, and had decided to provide cake for everyone, including the construction workers and all the security guards. The construction workers had greeted it with cheers and visibly enjoyed it. Their days could not be spoiled anymore.

The security guards had also been pleasantly surprised. Marcel had smilingly reported on the outside security guards who, no matter what time of day they were on duty, had received cake with their coffee and had heard from Janny that Annerieke would take care of cake every day.

Marcel had immediately asked Annerieke if the dance evening would go ahead, now that there were no other guests. They wouldn't have any problem with that if it weren't the case. Annerieke had consulted with Simon, Huib and Margreet, upon which Margreet had suggested inviting Marcel and Janny to their home that evening. Huib had thought it was a good idea and Marcel and Janny had responded enthusiastically to the invitation.

Margreet had confided in Janny that she would ask Annerieke if she could take some cake home after supper, so they wouldn't miss it. Janny and Margreet had giggled like a couple of adolescent girls, and they had felt like that, wonderfully young and lively!
