Chapter 135.

Desire to really live

The guests, as couples, had realized their own plans today. Each of them felt the need to talk about the previous evening's film, and they decided to take the time to do so quietly this day, in their rooms, during a walk, in a little restaurant. For all of them it was a day of peace and quiet. Subjects that fitted in with the theme of the film bubbled up regularly.

Sometimes choices were made, choices that went deep.

.

Rosanne and Angelique decided to accept the rejection of family and friends as something that was good for them personally and also good for their relationship. They would go through the pain and grief, through the disappointment, together, all the while keeping in mind that they were doing this to heal emotionally and become even more themselves. They felt a desire growing to be able to bring healing themselves to people in similar situations. They didn't know how yet, but they were confident that they would get ideas for that.

.

Samuel and Rebecca decided, in consultation with Annerieke, to stay another week so they could take all the time they needed to process their grief and to be left alone with each other for a longer period of time, in this environment that would strengthen them in their process. They also recognized things from the film in their own lives and included them in their conversations. Rebecca discovered that she liked to write down key words, as a kind of brainstorm, a spider web of thoughts, of subjects that came along in their conversations. In the village they bought a sketchbook in which she made her spider webs of words. Samuel discovered within himself that he wanted to write more, more in story form. He decided to keep a kind of diary on his tablet, including questions, desires and choices made.

.

Cees and Sita, who were already quite familiar with the way of life that Annerieke and Erik had lived as an example for them, discovered that they were still quite a bit stuck in the system of this world, and that this was preventing them from living in real freedom. What they were both mainly concerned with was the question of what they really liked to do, what really suited them. They both had a job for four days a week and that sometimes felt like a burden. What if they had no obligations at all, what would they want to do? They even considered retiring early to be able to fulfill their plans. But... they didn't quite figure out what plans those would be. They knew from themselves that they both had a lot of humor. But to do something with it, for example, in the form of theater or something like that, they didn't like that at all. But what else? At the moment they couldn’t decide, but they did not experience that as a problem. Maybe they needed more healing first and then the ideas would pop out. They decided to just follow the process, to live day by day, and as long as they were here to enjoy each other and the environment, as well as the other guests. They found it very special that the choices the younger couples had made had brought about so much, also for themselves. Like the movie evenings, that had never happened here before. They were grateful for the warmth and flexibility of the team here, for the hospitality, also of Huib and Margreet.

.

Theo and Renate hung out together with Alan and Frida today again. They had a deep click with each other, which was partly caused by their choices to leave their religion behind and to search for inner guidance. As they took a long walk and in between ate their lunch at a restaurant, they discussed all the things that came up in their minds, thoughts that had mostly to do with the religious system in which they had lived. Frida had no trouble at all about being among them, on the contrary, she found it so special that she could share with the three others her own experiences, completely independent of religion. When they returned towards the end of the afternoon, they were full of everything that had been discussed. Full in a painful sense, because it had all been sensitive, but also full in a hopeful way. Their expectations for the future had grown at a rate they had not thought possible! Tense expectations, desires for real life!
