Chapter 188.

Announcing the website

Margreet consulted with Lisa, "Shall we change all the beds first and then see if we feel like it to clean? We could possibly shift some of the work to tomorrow."

"Good idea, let's do those beds first, then we'll see."

Lisa put her arms around Sjaak's neck for a moment and gave him an intimate kiss.

"Well, in front of all of us..." teased Huib.

Lisa blushed and gave him a poke. "You then, you can do some of this too!"

"Oh yes, that's right, I almost forgot!" Huib ran with a mischievous face and straight arms towards Margreet, who ran away, pretending not wanting.

Everyone laughed terribly at Huib's attitude. He ran like a clown with crooked legs and outstretched arms after Margreet. Margreet looked back during the run and started to laugh so out loud at his attitude that she could not run any further and, bending over from laughter, disappeared into his grasp.

"Oh you!" she panted.

"Yes I, I can do it too, Lisa said so herself!" He grabbed Margreet by her upper arms and pulled her up.

"I want to prove it! I can do it too!" said Huib in a childish voice, looking deep into her eyes. He buried her under the kisses. Around them they heard the others cheering. Huib raised an arm in the air and cheered with them, "I can do it! I can do it!"

Smiling, he put his arm around Margreet and pulled her against him for a moment: "Come on dear girl, get to work you! Then I'll get to work on the website and the anti-social media!"

Lisa responded in surprise, "Anti-social media?"

"Ah yes, it's often not that social. So many people use social media to chew each other out. We're going to show them something else for a while: nice stuff, which we can arrange for them!"

He gave Margreet another quick kiss and with a "See you later!" he walked home.

.

At leisure, Huib looked at the website, enjoyed his photo collages. Even Margreet's page he liked, despite the fact that there was so little on it. That one photo of her hand and the beginning of the tapestry felt like a promise, a promise of something new, something beautiful. He wrote a short text next to it, indicating that this page was not ready yet, that more pictures would come soon, but that the viewers had the possibility to contact Margreet via her email address with questions and assignments. On the other two pages he had also written an inviting text with the email addresses.

He was still missing one thing, and that was a photo for the home page. He decided to make a collage of photos of everyone's work. He finally chose the picture of the dresser with Elly's mural behind it and a picture of Margreet's work. He placed this small collage at the top of the home page.

He was satisfied, and decided to start announcing their website on the various social media accounts. He grabbed all the login details and made a standard message on the notepad of his computer, in which he highlighted each account's speciality in capital letters. He closed the message with the link to the website and posted it. He saw that Facebook automatically added the collage photo of the home page and he added it to Twitter himself. He pinned the message so it would stay at the top. He also listed the link in everyone's personal information. He was pleased with it, it looked really good and clear!

To make it easier for visitors on their social media to get the idea to buy something from them or give them an order, he also posted all the other photos from the website on everyone's account.

Then he sent a message to Elly, telling her to really check out her Facebook and Twitter accounts! He soon got a response back that she was going to do that right away.

Finally Huib wrote a mention of his registration at the Chamber of Commerce on his own website page.

He pondered how he should proceed. Which price indications should he publish for his work? He made a draft schedule of the approximate number of hours he would need for a small closet, a large closet, and came up with various other items he could make. He still found it not so easy to determine how many hours he would need. After all, it depended not only on the measurements, but also on the decorations, the extras that would make the product special. He didn't see the point in making a standard list. He really only knew two things for sure: the price of the wood, and the hourly rate he wanted to charge.

He decided to describe this briefly on the website and to state that he would make a quotation for each order in consultation with the customer. That was a good solution for the moment. Later he would wrestle further. Again, he noticed that business was not really his thing.

He stretched, feeling again that he found this part of his job more tiring than working with wood. In itself, he didn't mind. He knew that he had made a good set-up for both the website and the two versions of social media, and that this would make it easier to keep it up in the future. Maybe he should talk to Simon about it, as he did most of the business side of his work himself.

He saw that he got a message, again from Elly. He smiled, she had immediately sent both him and Margreet a friend request on Facebook and had started following them on Twitter. He followed her lead, and did the same on behalf of Margreet. He was pleased that Elly was enthusiastic about both social media. She wrote that she didn't yet know exactly how everything worked, but that she would find out. He wrote back that he didn't know yet either, because he also had no experience with it. They agreed that if they had questions, they would ask each other for help. Together they would surely figure it out.

He looked around on both sites, searched for some people he knew and sent friend requests or started following them. That's how he expanded his little circle on the Internet.
