Chapter 119.

Lunch

Annerieke found Sjaak and Lisa in the kitchen. They had already set the table and made coffee and tea, so Annerieke could join them immediately. "That's nice for once, that everything is ready, thank you, sweethearts! Have you already heard about the movie nights?"

"No, what about?

At that moment Huib and Margreet also entered. Annerieke looked at them: "Huib, tell us, I just heard about movie nights."

Huib explained the plans and invited them right away. "It's going to be a full house. I just called Martin, he and Elly are coming too. And Simon is coming by tomorrow with the building plans, we also wanted to ask him. I think there will be eighteen of us then, really a lot for our living room, but it will work out quite well. We just need a couple of chairs, I'm thinking dining chairs, not those wide things."

"I have six, would that be enough?" asked Annerieke.

Huib quickly calculated: "Three on the couch, two on the chairs, we also have six dining room chairs, then six of yours added... together seventeen... Sjaak and Lisa, can you also take a chair with you?"

"Yes, no problem. How about between dinner and coffee we get things ready, you Huib the technical part, find the movie and so on, and Lisa and I the chairs?"

So they agreed on everything that seemed necessary and were happy that this was so easy to organize.

.

As they sat eating, there was a soft knock on the door. Huib got up and let Rosanne in. She looked at Annerieke questioningly: "We bought pizza rolls for lunch, and they are quite tasty lukewarm, but..."

Huib had already walked over to the oven. "Warm they are much tastier, Rosanne! We don't have a microwave, but the oven works fine. Bring on those pizza rolls!"

Together they placed the rolls on a grid that Huib slid into the oven. He set the temperature. "I'll bring them over in a minute. Are you guys sitting downstairs?"

Rosanne nodded, "Yes, in the living room, and we have napkins, we'll be careful not to spill."

Huib chuckled: "We have a vacuum cleaner though, it will be fine!"

Rosanne laughed: "Thanks in advance!" Pleased, she went back to the living room.

.

"How nice this is, this is not part of our regular guesthouse habits, lunch is not included, they know that, but they feel free enough to ask."

"This is life, this is real!" Lisa glowed with delight and received a hand kiss from Sjaak.

"Exactly, no rigid stuff with rules," Huib hummed, "yes Mommy, I know rules are necessary, by law and all, but this makes it all much cozier!"

They all laughed at Huib, by now knowing his aversion to rules. "Nothing like a matrix, as long as you know that!" He laughed merrily with them now. "By the way, that's the second movie, 'The Matrix', for Thursday night. Tuesday we start a little more lightly, but with a similar meaning. That movie is called 'The Truman Show,' really super goofy, but at the same time very relatable.

After a few minutes he thought the pizza rolls would be warm enough. He took them out of the oven and put them on a plate. He grabbed a stack of pastry dishes from the cupboard and brought everything over to the guests.

"Don't feel obligated to use the dishes, just see what you're most comfortable with. Eat well!"

As he walked back to the door, their voices echoed behind his back, "Thank you!" "Delicious Huib!" "Wonderfully warm!" He raised his hand briefly and disappeared again towards the kitchen.
