Chapter 186.

Farewell after

vacation with depth

Samuel and Rebecca had also packed their bags. It was obvious from them, that they had gone through a lot of sadness and pain in the past two weeks and that it had been good for them.

Rebecca walked up to Annerieke and took her hands, "All of you were wonderfully sweet and good to us," she said looking at the others left and right for a moment, "but you Annerieke, you gave us the jolt in the right direction, to go right through our pain."

She let go of Annerieke again, and continued speaking to the whole group, "We have had two hard weeks, but right through them they have been great weeks. Your cheerfulness and kindness, your love for each other and for us have supported us enormously. Because of you we have been able to smile and even laugh. We feel like going on with our lives. The sadness is not quite over yet, but we get over it, we see past it. We see the sun shining again, and we enjoy each other again."

Samuel smiled at her, "I don't need to say anything more, you put it perfectly!"

Relaxed, they said goodbye to the guesthouse family and both the other couples who were also about to go home. Samuel and Rebecca had also been in regular contact with Marcel and Janny, so they greeted each other as friends. They had exchanged each other's information, and knew they would stay in touch. They had not experienced this as an empty promise, as so often happened after vacations. The contact between the two couples had been deep, and Samuel and Rebecca knew that they could fall back on them in need.

Marcel and Janny were also happy about it. They experienced it as something that suited them, their desire to really help people.

.

The other departing guests, Theo and Renate, and Alan and Frida, rattled on lovely, then to one, then to the other. One thing did become clear, and that was that they had built a deep friendship and had been able to help each other enormously in finding their way without the religion in which they had grown up.

Before they said their goodbyes, Frida spoke up: "These idiots here," she said, smiling and pointing to her husband and new friends, "call me 'free Frida', which I am. I have always felt much freer than Alan. But in the past few weeks, all three of them have discovered themselves much more. They are now free themselves, free from their religion! That is why I want to renounce my nickname, I am just Frida, I am who I am. And all four of us are free. And I do believe that all four of us will still go through things, they also through consequences of their former religions, but that doesn't matter, all four of us feel motivated to go on, and we know that we can fall back on each other. Thank you so much for your wonderful example, your guidance, your sociability and kindness. This has been the best vacation I have ever experienced. A vacation with a special depth, so that we can move on. So, and now I've rattled off enough, let's go youngsters!"

Smiling, the others joined her; they said their merry goodbyes and left.
